Enablers. Doesn’t decrease usage or disease transmission. When folks are high, they aren’t worried about the needles they use or if they have a condom on.
I’m a drunk and my bottle is empty. Can you get me another for free?
big , big mistake
Didn’t Charleston or some place in WV drop this program because it had a negative effect? It enabled?
Sure did.
And there where used needles everywhere!! More than they could keep picked up!!!
Here you go, go do your drugs. Free needles.
The ignorance displayed here by these comments is just….astounding. This practice is called harm reduction. The aim is to not lower the rate of drug use, rather lower the rate of infectious disease amongst a community through shared needles. It also gives users a place to dispose of needles so they aren’t laying in the grass or on the sidewalk.
