Martin Co. man charged after pointing gun at wife, then FLATTENING all four tires

A Martin County man, George Spence, 61, is facing charges after he reportedly pointed a gun at his wife through the windshield of a car.

MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – An Inez man is facing charges after he was accused of shoving his wife inside their home, Deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said.  They responded to a call regarding domestic violence at a home in Inez on Monday, May 12.

According to the arrest citation, she had bruises on her left arm and ran away from Spence before running outside to her car. She said Spence went outside with a rifle and pointed it at her through the windshield.

The citation said that their grandson got between the woman and Spence while a gun was pointed at both of them. Spence later put the gun down before flattening all of the tires on the vehicle and ran to his truck so the woman could not leave.

Police said that Spence later admitted to drinking two beers.He was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, wanton endangerment in the first degree, and fourth-degree assault – domestic violence (minor injury).

He was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center but is no longer in jail, according to the website.A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Spence for Tuesday, May 20.
