James Ayers of First State Bank with Louisa Rotary VP Debbie Johnson, Ayers spoke to the Louisa Rotary Club on July 17th.

James is the Assistant VP and regional retail manager for the Kentucky market. James said fraud was a major problem for banks and the general public, especially the elderly. The employees at First State Bank are trained on how to look for fraudulent scams. The bank offers a Kasasa account where you can earn interest on checking accounts. Some of the programs they offer are for students and he says these make him the proudest. Their internship program has three pillars, earn, learn and serve. They also offer a student checking account that pays $100 a year for students with all A’s and $50 a year for A and B honor roll. This is for students aged 13-21. He answered many questions from the Rotary members and gave a very informative presentation.

Longtime Rotarian Pat Hart was bestowed a second Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Louisa Rotary Club. Pat has been a dedicated Rotarian for 33 years and exemplifies outstanding service, both on the local level and beyond. Congratulations to Pat for this deserving award.
