SECOND MAN ARRESTED AFTER SHOWING UP INTOXICATED AT, AND COMING INTO THE APARTMENT SCENE, REFUSED POLICE ORDERS TO LEAVE

AMIGOS WHO WENT LOCO: CARMEHINO JIMENEZ GONZALEZ, 26 (PHOTO TOP); & JIMENEZ GITANO, 23, (PHOTO BOTTOM), BOTH FROM MEXICO AND ARE IN THE U.S. ON GREEN CARDS, WERE BOTH ARRESTED ON EARLY FRIDAY MORNING IN PAINTSVILLE, KENTUCKY AFTER A VIOLENT DOMESTIC INCIDENT CASE INVOLVING A WOMAN AND TWO CHILDREN AT AN APARTMENT.
A Johnson County, Kentucky man is facing felony charges after he allegedly unlawfully imprisoned a woman and refused to drop a knife he was holding when he encountered responding officers.
According to an arrest citation written by Paintsville Police Department officer Justin Jackson, at 12:21 A.M., on Friday, August 14, officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call at Elite Apartments on FM Stafford Avenue in Paintsville.
Upon arrival, the citation said, officers were met by juveniles running from the residence toward them. Officer Jackson wrote that the juveniles told officers that Carmehino Jimenez Gonzalez, 26, who is a Mexican national and who is in the country on a green card, had their mother in a back bedroom and was refusing to let her out.
Officers entered the residence and attempted to enter the bedroom, which was found to be locked, the citation said. A woman could be heard screaming inside, the citation said, and officers made forcible entry, at which time Carmehino Gonzalez attempted to push the door closed to prevent them from coming in.
Officer Jackson wrote that he deployed his Taser, but was unable to gain compliance from Carmehino Gonzalez, but he did move away from the doorway, which allowed officers to enter the apartment residence.
Upon entry, officer Jackson wrote, officers found that Carmehino Gonzalez was holding a knife and ordered him to drop it. However, the citation said, Carmenhino Gonzalez refused to drop the knife. Officer Jackson wrote that a second deployment of his Taser was successful in incapacitating Carmehino Gonzalez, at which time he dropped the knife to the floor.
According to the arrest citation, officers were able to place Carmehino Gonzalez under arrest.
Upon investigation, officer Jackson wrote, officers learned that the woman and her daughter had both been struck by Gonzalez.
While officers were attempting to arrest Carmehino Gonzalez, according to an arrest citation, a second man, identified as Jimenez Gitano, 23, who is also a Mexican national, and who is in the country on a green card, came into the residence under the influence and refused to leave.
Carmehino Gonzalez was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Detention Center on charges of
*ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE DATING VIOLENCE (MINOR INJURY), *ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (CHILD ABUSE),
*WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER, *UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT – 1ST DEGREE, *RESISTING ARREST, *ASSAULT 3RD DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER OR PROBATION OFFICER; *MENACING, *DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE, and *WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE.
Jimenez Gitano was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on the charges of:
*OBSTRUCTING GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS,
*RESISTING ARREST,
*DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE,
*ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE), and MENACING.
Both men remain in custody at the BSRDC as of the late afternoon Saturday, August 15.
