Dustin “Jeb” Evans, a beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away on August 13, 2026.
Born on July 16, 1999, in Huntington, WV, Dustin was a beacon of light and warmth that radiated to everyone fortunate enough to be in his presence. A man of many passions, Dustin found joy in the simple pleasures of life, which included his love for riding side by sides and 4 wheelers, hunting, fishing, and football. He played with immense vigor, wearing the number 64 jersey for Tolsia High School, and his supportive and thoughtful nature ensured that he was not just a teammate, but a true brother to all. Dustin’s career was marked by his dedication and hard work.
However, what mattered most to him were not the accolades or accomplishments, but the people in his life- his family and friends. His affinity for his loved ones was palpable, his love for them as clear as a mountain stream.
His mother, Melissa “Missy” Evans; sisters, Maddison Evans and Hannah Evans; nephews, Railson Evans and Roper Evans; his grandparents, Christine and Jim Evans, and Cora Finley, survive him and will forever cherish the memories they made with him. He is also survived by aunts and uncles Gary and Kim Collie, Crystal Finely, and Phil Copley; cousins Jace Jackson, J.B. and Erin Collie, Tanner and Tristan Collie, Hayley Collie, Cole and Sierra Collie, Brixton Collie, Branton Collie, Hunter Collie, Toni Finley, and Cody Copley; and a host of great aunts, uncles, and special friends.
Dustin was preceded in death by his father, Robert Evans; his grandfathers, Joe Finley and Mutt Copley; and his step-father, John Carey.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Dustin’s life during visitation on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Frasher Cemetery, Fort Gay, West Virginia.
