JOHNSON COUNTY, KENTUCKY MAN; PIKE COUNTY, KENTUCKY MAN. INDICTED ON FEDERAL WEAPONS CHARGE IN SEPARATE CASES

THEY WERE NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TOYS OF THE DANGEROUS-DEADLY KIND: STEVEN EDWARD LIMPKINS, 45. OF OIL SPRINGS, KENTUCKY (PHOTO TOP); AND STANLEY DUTY, 54, OF PHELPS, KY., (PHOTO BELOW), ARE EACH CHARGED IN SEPARATE FEDERAL CASES WITH ONE COUNT OF BEING A CONVICTED FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM.
A Johnson County, Ky man, as well as a Pike County, KY., man, have been indicted separately by a federal grand jury, after they were allegedly found with firearms, despite previous felony convictions.
Stanley Duty, 54, of Phelps, KY., and Steven Edward Lumpkins, 45, of Oil Springs, KY., were each indicted on a single count of felon in possession of a firearm in separate, unrelated cases.
According to their indictments, Stanley Duty was found with four handguns and a rifle on May 20, 2025, in Pike County; while Steven Lumpkins was found with a handgun and a rifle on May 29, 2025, in Floyd County.
Lumpkins has a lengthy criminal history, including that he has already served federal prison sentences THREE times in the 2010s decade; as well as state prison time on drug charges. If convicted, Stanley Duty and Steven Lumpkins will each face a potential sentence of up to 15 years in federal prison. The federal indictments also seek forfeiture of all seized weapons.
