2016 Lawrence Co. High Baseball Seniors
Louisa, Ky. — For eight seniors that have played a lot of games together over the years it was fitting that all eight of them contributed with at least a hit, scored a run or recorded a putout in a 10-2 win over Raceland on a beautiful Thursday night for baseball at Randy Keeton field.
These eight seniors have won 92 games so far and have a shot to win 100 for their careers with a deep run into postseason play. Only the 2008 and 2011 seniors can say that.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“… I can’t say enough about these kids that hasn’t already been said. I sIt and look at these jersey numbers on the field and I have one guy who started for me pretty much every game since 8th grade.” Next year when I start handing out jersey’s to new Varsity players they are going to have big shoes to fill. This group won their 92nd game tonight and they could make a run at 100 wins. They have been a blast to coach.”
“I hope for them not me, that we can make a post season run next week and the week after.” They have worked hard and sacrificed a lot.” We ask a lot out of our kids. They have been fortunate to win two District Championships, Region Championship and a Regional Runner-up. It is all about the memories.”
“They have played a lot of big games, been in tough situations. We always play a grinding schedule and they are prepared for anything. They come out and executed tonight.” Hopefully this will get use going. It only takes one game.”
“Austin Bailey was a stud tonight. Chase Coverdale has hit well all year and when he hits to all fields he is a tough out. Tristan Johnson has put in as much time as anybody in our program. Tickled for him to come in and contribute. Zach Keesee has been steady in centerfield all year even though he never played outfield before this year. Drake Barager has done everything I have asked him to do this year. Morgan Miller has set our offense up all year and scored a bunch of runs. Brock Turner, “Mr. Utility”, has played a bunch of positions this year.”
“We are ready for Post Season after Saturday we will put all of our attention towards Phelps and the District Tournament. We will be agressive and try to punch our ticket to the Regional Tournament.”
