Pippa Passes, Ky. —  Former Tolsia Baseball standout Eric Williams graduated from Alice Lloyd on Saturday and will wrap up his baseball career sometime this month.

Williams, a 2019 Tolsia graduate crossed the stage with a Criminal Justice Degree at Alice Lloyd after spending the last five years in Pippa Passes. Williams has been a big part of the Eagle baseball program. He has played four seasons and redshirted his Freshman year.

Alice Lloyd will travel to Oakland City, Indiana on Wednesday for the NCCAA Mideast Regional Tournament to face Asbury College at Noon.

Former Lawrence Co. Bulldog Braydan Maynard is a freshman outfielder for the Eagles. Also, former Bulldog Nick Collinsworth is redshirting this season at Alice Lloyd.

PLAYER’S COMMENTS

“… Feels like I signed with Alice Lloyd just yesterday. It has flew absolutely flew by, hard to believe how quick it has went. I wish I could have changed a few things along the way but it is what it is.”

“… Growing up it definitely wasn’t my first option but it was a great decision. I wouldn’t have got to meet all of these great people along the way. Best coaches in the world and best people you could ever meet.”

“… We have been to Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Michigan and my Freshman year was going to Florida but I ended up redshirting. Got to go so may places that I never imagined being from little ole Fort Gay. It’s been a wild ride and so thankful and blessed.”

“… I got my degree in Criminal Justice and thinking about going into the DNR field and maybe be a game warden. And I love being outside so that would be the perfect scenario for me.”

“… Nothing like putting on this uniform and taking the field. I used to just play but now as I’ve gotten older they have taught me to play for the front of the jersey and and I wouldn’t change that for nothing.”

“… It’s honestly been a crazy ride. I wouldn’t have pictured something like this from Fort Gay. Hopefully it shows people that it doesn’t matter where you’re from that if you put your mind to it you can do anything you want in this world. To spend five years in Pippa Passes is something I will never forget.”

“… So many people to thank on this journey from my mom and dad, my grandma who has been there from the start, my girlfriend Trinity, Tolsia coaches Jeff Wallace and Mike Pyles they both pushed me to be the best that I could be and through stuff that I didn’t think was possible. The coaches here as well. All of them are so special to me.”
