CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2025 |
Graduation marks a major milestone in your life. It’s the result of years of effort, learning, and growth, and it represents the beginning of a new and exciting chapter. Whether you’re stepping into the workforce, pursuing higher education, serving in the military, or exploring a path still unfolding, know that you carry with you the strength and resilience it took to get here.
As someone who grew up in the heart of eastern Kentucky and attended one of our wonderful public schools, I know the value of perseverance, faith, and family. Those values have carried me through life and continue to shape the future of our region. I see those same values in this graduating class—young people who are smart, driven, and ready to make an impact. You are the future of our mountain communities. It is my fervent hope and prayer that some of you will return to these communities and build careers here. For those of you who choose to build new lives in families elsewhere, never forget the strength of the place you came from. These hills have raised leaders, innovators, and change-makers for generations—and you are next in line. To the parents, teachers, and mentors who helped these graduates get to this day, thank you. Your influence and encouragement have made all the difference. To the graduates, go boldly into this next chapter. Take your education, your work ethic, and your heart for community, and use them to make the world better. No matter where your path leads, remember that you always have a home here in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.
Congratulations again, Class of 2025. I’m proud of you, and I can’t wait to see what your future holds. ### Sen.
