COUPLE ARRESTED IN OHIO CRIME SPREE ADMIT TO BREAK-INS IN KENTUCKY

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) — Deputies say a couple arrested in connection with a crime spree are now responsible for crimes in multiple states.
Deputies arrested Zachary Deming, 24, of Detroit, and Courtney Skyles, 21, of Beauty earlier in August on multiple charges. Ms. Skyles is the daughter of popular Martin Co. Clerk Susie Skyles and her husband. Courtney has worked in the Clerk’s office but it is not clear whether she is still employed.
According to a release, detectives have learned the couple was transporting large amounts of heroin from Michigan to Kentucky.
Portsmouth Police say the two were targeting very nice neighborhoods including gated communities.
According to a release, the suspects would use a window punch tool to shatter the windows to gain entry into vehicles as well as getting into unlocked vehicles.
Detectives have gathered information that the suspects would search realty sites to find these nice neighborhoods.
Investigators in Kentucky believe the two are responsible for break-ins in the Cross Creek subdivision earlier in August.

Deputies in Kentucky say the two will now be charged with theft by unlawful taking of a firearm and criminal mischief for the crimes in Johnson County.

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) — A couple is facing a list of charges in connection with a crime spree.
Zachary Deming, 24, Michigan, is charged with burglary, breaking and entering, theft, obstructing justice and criminal tools along with other misdemeanors.
Courtney Skyles, 21, of Beauty, Kentucky is charged with complicity to burglary, complicity to breaking and entering, obstructing justice, criminal tools and and complicity to theft along with other misdemeanors.
According to a release, deputies got a call stating someone had broken into two vehicle and stole several items at a home on Gallia Pike.
While deputies were responding to that call, they got another call saying someone had broken into a house and cars on Shady Brook Lane.
The victims on Shady Brook were able to track their stolen iPhones to a location close to a restaurant on Center Street in Wheelersburg.
Deputies responded to that location and observed a male subject in the parking lot with several bags scratching off lottery tickets. The male subject did have some of the stolen items in his possession.
During the investigation a female with a vehicle which was later identified as the suspect vehicle was located on the parking lot of a drug store.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was in route to handle a crash report involving the vehicle that was used in the multiple thefts.
During the investigation, several other victim’s from the Wheelersburg area had called in stating they had vehicles and houses broken into with several items stolen.
Investigators were able to confirm the female driver of the vehicle and the man found at a restaurant were dating and had been out all night in the Wheelersburg area breaking into vehicles and houses.
According to a release, several items were recovered including cash, purses, wallets, credit cards, iPhones, iPads, notebooks, gift cards, drivers licenses, watches, a bicycle and other personal items.
Deming is being held without bond due to outstanding felony warrants in Michigan.
Skyles is being held on a $167,500 bond.
This is an ongoing investigation that will result in more charges being presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury on a later date.
