LOUISA, Ky. (FOX 56) — A man has been arrested after allegedly setting his motorcycle on fire.

According to an arrest citation from the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, someone called authorities on Saturday, Feb. 21, saying a man was allegedly threatening to light his motorcycle on fire on Highway 23.

Dispatch told enroute deputies that the motorcycle was on fire.

Later, deputies reportedly found Adam Maynard less than a mile from the motorcycle.

The citation said authorities asked Maynard if it was his motorcycle, and he allegedly said the deputy couldn’t prove it.

The man later allegedly said he had taken his sock off and used a lighter to set it on fire.

While talking to the man, the deputy allegedly found three needles and a pill container. The man allegedly said he had meth in it.

The deputy reported that Maynard later said he set the motorcycle on fire to keep anyone from stealing it.

The fire reportedly spread to a nearby hillside, and firefighters were dispatched to contain the fire.
