BARBOURSVILLE, W.VA. — Three teams that are composed primarily of players from the Lawrence County Youth Baseball league won 3 championships this past weekend. In Barboursville, WV, teams competed for the Border Battle championships in age ranges of 7-12U.
7-U BULLDOGS
The 7U Louisa Bulldogs went 4-1 for the weekend and bringing home the championship. The Bulldogs lost their opening round game and then won 4 straight to capture the title. Championship Sunday was topped off with an over the fence home run by Colten Bentley, who also won MVP. The 7U Bulldogs in the picture are Oakley Pack, Sawyer Laney, Paxton Spaulding, Colton Bentley, Tyson Muncy, Eli Block, Zayne Powell, Waylon Raines, Derrick “Debo” Black, Ryder Endicott, and Easton Osborn.
8-U Bulldogs
The 8U Louisa Dawgs went 3-0 on the weekend. They defeated the East Ky Revolution, Logan Wild Things, and then Revolution again in the championship. The Dawgs outscored their opponents 39-25 in 3 games. After a long rain delay in the championship game, the Dawgs started to smash the ball. The night was capped off on Saturday with the championship rings and the MVP going to Tucker Dixon. The 8U Louisa Dawgs in the picture are Jaxon Chaffins, Kristian Johnson, Tucker Dixon, Tucker Muncy, Kashton Lee, Lucas McDaniels, Gunner Blevins, Jase Adams, Lucas Block, Brayson Raines, and Colton Bentley.
9-U Bulldogs
The 9U East KY Revolution went 4-0 on the weekend. They defeated the Rawlings Tigers, WV Bucs, Buckhannon Little Bucs, and the WV Bucs again in the championship Sunday. They outscored their opponents 44-13. Hayden Bowen and Syd Woods took home co-MVPs. The 9U Revolution roster in the picture is Tucker Muncy, Easton Caudill, Dane Kitts, Syd Woods, Kashton Lee, Lucas Block, Hayden Bowen, Kash Howell, Jase Adams, and Blaine Williams.
Louisa was well represented on the three teams. Of the three teams rostered, 22 of the 27 players go to Louisa/ Fallsburg Elementary. Lawrence County Youth Baseball rostered 25/27 players for the weekend on the three championship teams.
