Les York, of Louisa, KY, passed away on June 27, 2025, just one day before his 72nd birthday. Born June 28, 1953, in Louisa, Les was the heart of our family and the one who made home truly feel like home—up Walbridge.
Les is survived by his three children, Heather York, Kasey (Brad) Ray, and Bob York; his seven grandchildren, Cora, Gwen, Edra, Malie, Mallorie, Warren, and Archer; and his siblings Sissy, Paul David, Jeff, Donna, Raymond, and Judy. He was preceded in death by his wife Delphia and his brother Benny.
Les loved the simple things in life: his family, a pack of Pall Mall cigarettes, a cup of instant coffee, and sitting on his back porch watching his fishing poles at the river. He’d tell you the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not, and he’d give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. There was no better father or grandfather—and he was also the best brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor, and friend anyone could ask for.
He will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew him.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 PM at Young Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in York Cemetery.
In the wake of Les’s passing, we encourage everyone to share their memories and stories of him. His life was a tapestry of love and joy, and we invite you to add your thread to the weave. Please feel free to leave memories and upload photos to his memorial page as a tribute to his wonderful life.
