Comments from our retirees:
Ms. Pam Branham, “Lawrence County Schools was my home for 23 years and I have met some amazing co-workers and even more amazing children. I will miss it with all my heart, but it’s time to layback and relax with my boys and travel with my family.”
Mr. Ed Dixon, “For the past 27 years, it has been an honor reporting to school in the Lawrence County school system. For 16 years, it was my pleasure being a history teacher and coach (basketball, football, track, academic team, and golf) at Lawrence County High School. And for the last 11 years, it has been an incredible experience being an administrator at The East. I have been blessed to be a Bulldog and to make countless memories over the years. I just want to encourage everyone to make your own dash, one that is worth remembering.” Proverbs 27:17 #ISI #EAST
Mrs. Janice Hewlett, “I have always been treated really well by the school system. I enjoyed my job and had the opportunity to care for some wonderful children. Now, I plan to relax and enjoy being home.”
Mr. Shawn Jennings, “I have been in education for 27 years! I began my career by teaching special education, and several years teaching 4th and 5th grades. For the last 19 years, I have been at Blaine Elementary School, with 16 of those years serving as principal. I am proud that during this time, the elementary school earned a Proficient rating on the state assessment and our middle school earned 5 stars, with a ranking of 7th in the state.”
Mrs. Debbie Johnson, “Working in the school system has been a very rewarding experience. I have met and working with really great people. I am excited to get to do all the things I haven’t had time for, but I am also sad to leave my Bulldog family. I will miss you all!”
Mrs. Teresa Prince, “It has been my honor to serve the Students and Families of the Lawrence County School District. As I move on to the next chapter, I will look back and smile! I am thankful to have had this opportunity.”
Mrs. Andrea Riffe, “It has been an honor and a privilege to have dedicated the past 30 years to the students of Louisa Elementary and Louisa East Elementary School. From coaching the academic team for 16 years, running the after school 21st Century Grant program, and directing 14 musical plays, I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences and relationships I’ve built throughout the years. I look forward to what the future holds!”
Mr. George Salyers, “I have been very blessed! The LC Board of Education has always been good to me. I am really going to miss it! I plan and hope to relax, work around my home, and enjoy life.”
We extend our heartfelt wishes to these eight retirees! Thank you for your unwavering commitment and dedication to our students over the years. Your contributions have made a significant impact on countless lives. We are truly grateful for each of you and hope you enjoy your well-deserved retirement.
