A Lawrence County, Kentucky man has now been indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury after being arrested by the Kentucky State Police for a number of child exploitation charges back on November 21, 2023.
Jerod Lee Kelly, 36, of Louisa, KY has been charged with one (1) count of:
- HUMAN TRAFFICKING – COMMERCIAL SEX ACTIVITY (VICTIM <18 YEARS OF AGE),
- ten (10) counts of: PROCUREMENT OR PROMOTING USE OF MINOR BY ELECTRONIC MEANS, and
- ten (10) counts of DISTRIBUTION OF OBSCENE MATTER TO MINORS 1ST OFFENSE.
Jerod Kelly is accused of using Facebook and Facebook Messenger to solicit young girls to send him explicit images of themselves.
According to the KSP police report, Jerod Kelly admitted messaging “dozens (maybe hundreds) of juveniles, soliciting sexually explicit images from them, and sharing sexually explicit images of himself.”
Jerod Kelly had been released from jail in late January, after no indictment was handed down within the state mandated law of 60 days of his initial arrest.
Jerod Lee Kelly was re-arrested on Thursday evening, February 8, by deputy Joseph Osborne, after his indictment. He is currently being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, KY., in Johnson County, on a $50,025 full cash bond only.
