Lawrence County was recently renewed for it’s Storm Ready certification through the National Weather Service Office in Charleston, WV.
During the spring of 2017 the NWS reviewed plans, procedures, readiness and preparedness of Lawrence County Emergency Management and other county agencies. After their review and scoring Lawrence County once again became recognized by the National Weather Service as a Storm Ready county.
The certification will be valid through 2020 when the agency will have to be evaluated once again.
