Louisa, KY – On May 1, 2025, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Louisa Police Department, Lawrence County Constable District 4, and the Kentucky State Police, executed a search warrant at 200 Copper Road in connection with an ongoing drug investigation.
During the search, law enforcement officers discovered approximately four ounces of methamphetamine, marijuana, numerous prescription pills, drug trafficking packaging materials, electronics, various drug paraphernalia, $5,315 in cash, and two firearms. Upon entry, officers observed the suspects attempting to destroy the narcotics.
Two male suspects were arrested at the scene:

• Billy Howard was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

• Jason “Buddy” Hodge was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified), Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Deputy Tyler Laney of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Chuck Jackson expressed his gratitude for the coordinated efforts among agencies, stating, “This case is another example of the positive impact that cooperation between local and state law enforcement agencies can have on keeping our communities safe.”

“…On the above date Myself along with several other Officers from Louisa Police, Deputies and Kentucky State Police arrived at Copper Road to conduct a search warrant in reference to information we received in reference to drug trafficking. Upon arrival the above came from the back bedroom. Upon entering the residence a 22 rifle was located in the living room in plain view. The above is a convicted felon and was charged with a felony in 2022. We located 113 grams of methamphetamine in the ceiling in the back bedroom and they shoved multiple baggies and bags of pills down the drain in the bedroom. We also located 5,315.00 dollars cash in a drawer in the bedroom. There was blood on the floor when I spoke with the above he had a large cut on his hand.”
