LAWRENCE COUNTY— Tuesday, July 30, 2019 – KingCrete, a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Highway District 12, started work at 7 a.m. today to repair an embankment failure on KY 32 in Lawrence County. The work is expected to take three days. Work hours are 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
D12 Engineer Tim Spencer said the contractor should be able to keep one lane open at all times, but there will be intermittent long delays. This is because it takes up more than one lane of space to move the drilling rig from spot to spot. The rig is used to drill railroad steel into the embankment to stabilize the break area. If people are in a hurry, they might want to find another route.
The work zone site is a mile point 20.960, less than a mile from the KY 32 intersection with KY 1760.
