Louisa, Ky. — The Kickin Chickens won the Co Ed division and finished second in the Men’s division this past weekend in the 10th Annual Don Brumfield Memorial softball Tournament held at Stella Moore park and Tolsia high school.

The Kickin Chickens played this weekend in memory of Don Brumfield who passed away in 2008. Don, along with his brother John ” Bubba ” Brumfield started the team in the early 80’s. This is the second year for the Co-Ed and the Kickin Chickens have won it both years and gone undefeated both years.
Kekambas finished 2nd, and the Good Ol’ Folks came in third.
Co Ed Men MVP was Dustin Kennon and Female MVP was Regina Null.

In the men’s division Hutch’s Wrecker Service out of Charleston, WVA, went 4-0 to capture the title. KC finished second and went 6-2 after winning five straight in the losers bracket before falling in the championship game. Block’s Bombers finished third out of nine teams entered in the tourney.

The tournament was a huge success with all proceeds benefiting Don’s four grandkids Trey, Luke, Trevor and Ashlyn and wouldn’t be possible without all of the volunteers and sponsors.
