Louisa, Ky. — With school starting earlier this week in Lawrence Co., it won’t be long before sports in the area will be in full swing with Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Golf and Girls Basketball all returning to action for the fall season and we will try to have previews and team pictures of all sports the best we can.
Football
Bulldog football under second year coach Alan Short has over 70 players out so far and are looking to build on a first round playoff exit last season and return a host of starters for 2017.
Soccer
LC Soccer went to the State Tournament last season and return a ton of experience under second year Head Coach Kyle Sniatecki.
Volleyball
The VolleyDawgs look to be much improved under Kelly Chapman who is entering her second season as well.
Golf
The Boys and Girls Golf teams are also making strides this year with a record number of players out in 2017 under coach Brian Akers
Middle School Sports
* Middle school football under Blake Preece is moving in the right direction.
* Middle school Girls basketball under Paul and Leanna Preece had a great summer and the future is bright.
