Kentucky Power crews working to restore service for AEP Texas in Corpus Christi pause at sunrise today to bow their heads and pray together before beginning their day making repairs. The workers say prayer helps them focus on those they are there to help.
I thought I’d share some of the social media posts the Kentucky Power crews are receiving while working to restore power in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
We sent 95 Kentucky Power employees and contractor with Asplundh and Davis H Elliott, all based here in eastern Kentucky, to help AEP Texas. They have been working mostly in the Corpus Christi area. Some of the contractors have been in Victoria. All say are humbled by the experience. I personally like the Instagram hashtag.

yaya10142: After being told that our power wouldn’t be turned on anywhere between Wednesday-Friday due to a down line in our backyard I literally yelled when our power came on earlier this afternoon. My medicine has not been refrigerated since early Friday afternoon and I was worried about it spoiling. Thank you to the AEP crew from Kentucky who drove for four days to come down and help. #AEPBadasses #AEP
