COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Kensley is a generational type player. The type of player who totally turned our program around. We went from just being glad to make it to the regional tournament to the semi finals her sophomore season, regional runner up her junior season and finally being able to win the regional championship this year. Now we’ve had great players that have helped and the last two years especially our kids have come together like never before.”

“… Her leadership with these girls is what really makes her special. Since they were in elementary school really, she’s always been a great leader. She’s just continually grown her game and leadership throughout the years and that work ethic is what is truly special about her. Her relentless and her determination to get things done is truly remarkable. Earlier in the season a reporter asked her about all of the scoring accolades that she had and how great that was and she told him she’d give all of that up to hang a regional championship banner in our gym.”

“… Man what a way to finish your career being able to achieve the individual goals that she had set for herself and to top it all of with our first regional championship. She has finished her amazing career as the all time leading scorer, rebounder, assist leader and steals leader in our program and capping this off with our first regional championship! She has left her mark and legacy here. I couldn’t be more proud of the young lady that she has become and while we will definitely miss her next season we are so excited for her future at Belmont. It’s been a blessing to have her be in our program.”

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… I’ve been at this a long time and I have never seen anything like her! She has the best attitude, hardest drive and is by far the best leader I have ever had! I say this all the time, my life has been changed and is better because she is in my life! Every coach should have the opportunity to have her on their team! Love her to death.”

Greenup Co. Girls basketball Head Coach Paul Miller

“… Coming from an opposing Coach , she is simply one of those players you just can’t slow down.  Her strength and ability to take you to the rim is powerful. When you combine that strength with grit and toughness  and the will to win, you simply have a VERY special talent.  Last , her humbleness and kindness will for sure carry her to life’s successes beyond basketball.  I’m a huge fan and can’t wait to watch her successes.”

Lawrence Co. assistant softball coach Sam Sparks

“… Kensley is a generational type student athlete for our area.  Her presence and influence in our school community and with our athletic teams is something that will be remembered for years.”

“… Kensley is a great leader on any team or activity that she is involved with here at LCHS.”

“…Her statistical numbers for basketball are staggering. She has certainly been a tremendous role model for all young girls in and around our area and state.”

“… Her work ethic and attitude will carry her far in her next stop and in life.”

Tolsia Girls Basketball Head Coach Ric Morrone

“… Tremendous player, having watched her over the years and coached against her as well. What a player and representative she has become for girls basketball in our area. What a leader she is for her team and her school. She has set a standard in girls basketball that will be hard to top. Excited to see her at the next level and I’m sure she will be successful. Kensley has done a lot tremendous things for our region and brought attention to all the great basketball players in this area.”

Lawrence Co. Superintendent Dr. Robbie Fletcher

“… Athletes are often judged by their points scored, rebounds, assists, batting average, home runs, wins, championships, and many other statistics.  While Kensley’s statistics in basketball and softball in all of these areas are unbelievable, none of these are the first thing that comes to mind when I think of her.  When someone asks me about Kensley, I think of the love that her teammates have for her, her school spirit in the pep section, her bidding on my mom’s cheesecake each year, her love for our community, and her attention to the future Bulldog girls who want to be the next Kensley Feltner.  Simply put, she has made a lasting positive impact on our sports programs, and more importantly, on our community.”
