JOE ALLEN EVANS, 52, OF INEZ, KENTUCKY; SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN PRISON AFTER GUILTY PLEAS IN TRIO OF FELONY CASES.
A Martin County man has been sentenced to five years in state prison after pleading guilty to assault, attempted witness intimidation, and drug possession charges.
According to the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 24th Judicial Circuit, Joe Allen Evans, 52, was sentenced on Thursday, June 18, following guilty pleas to Second-Degree Assault (Domestic Violence), Attempted Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Marijuana. Prosecutors said the assault stemmed from a November 2024 incident in which Joe Evans used a dangerous weapon and caused physical injury to a female victim. Authorities also alleged that Evans later threatened the victim in an attempt to have the charges dropped.
Joe Evans received concurrent sentences totaling five years in prison and will be required to serve 85% of that sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
These cases involving Joe Allen Evans were investigated by Sheriff John H. Kirk and the Martin County Sheriff Office.
