The Kentucky State Police arrested five individuals following a traffic stop that led to the seizure of a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs.

ILLEGAL STREET NARCOTICS SEIZED BY KENTUCKY STATE POLICE DURING TRAFFIC STOP IN THE BELFRY AREA PIKE COUNTY. KY ON JUNE 25, 2026
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, troopers and investigators with the Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles believed to be traveling together in the Belfry community of Pike County. KSP Street Level Drug detectives had developed information indicating the vehicles were involved in transporting illegal drugs into Pike County.
One vehicle was occupied by Howard Jardarlin Burris, Carnell Archery, and Zavion B. McCallister, all from Akron, Ohio; while the second vehicle was occupied by Isaac J. Chapman and Caltlin A. Griffith, both of Pike County.
Both of the vehicles were towed to a secure location, where KSP detectives and troopers conducted a follow-up search. During the search, investigators located suspected illegal drugs concealed inside the driver and passenger side door frames of the vehicle operated by Chapman.
The investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 2 pounds and 7 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and approximately 2.5 ounces of suspected fentanyl.
The following individuals were arrested and charged in connection with the investigation:
Howard Burris, 20, of Akron Ohio; was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center in Pikeville on the charges of: *POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA; *DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS; *FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS; *EXCESSIVE WINDSHIELD/WINDOW TINTING; *LICENSE TO BE IN POSSESSION; *SPEEDING 8 MPH OVER LIMIT, *NO/EXPIRED KENTUCKY REGISTRATION RECEIPT; *FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD; *OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1D) – 1ST OFFENSE; *AGGRAVATING TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE >= 28 GRAMS FENTANYL; TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (>= 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE)
Carnell Archery, 24, of Akron, Ohio; was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on the charges of: *POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA; *DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS; *PUBLIC INTOXICATION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL), *AGGRAVATING TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE >= 28 GRAMS FENTANYL; *TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (>= 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE).
Zavion McCallister, 23, of Akron Ohio; was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges of: *POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA; *DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS; *PUBLIC INTOXICATION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL), *AGGRAVATING TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE >= 28 GRAMS FENTANYL; TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (>= 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE).
Isaac J. Chapman, 28, of Pikeville, KY., was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on THE charges of: *SPEEDING, 8 MPH OVER LIMIT; *OPER MV UNDER/INFLUENCE SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1C) – 1ST OFFENSE; *DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS; *AGGRAVATING TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE >= 28 GRAMS FENTANYL; TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (>= 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE). 
Caitlin A. Griffith, 27, of Pikeville, KY., was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on the charges of: *POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA; *DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS; *AGGRAVATING TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE >= 28 GRAMS FENTANYL; *TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (>= 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE).
All five individuals were are all being held in the Pike County Detention Center on $50,000 full cash bonds.
