COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Paintsville game we had a very good pitcher on the ropes first two innings and let him off the hook and then he got really dialed in. Made it a tough night to plate runs. Talon Pollack’s stuff was really good, we just have to get him more efficient. Our two freshman arms Braxton Davis and Boedy Maynard continue to come in and do a great job of competing on the mound and they did that night.”
“… Back to back games against Betsy Layne was good to get 2 district wins under our belt. Tyger Cavins got his first career start and did a great job for us. Tyger has very good stuff and if he can settle in on all aspects of actual pitching he’s going to be a dandy for us. Jake Derifield tonight was lights out. As efficient as he’s been, which enabled him to go the distance.”
“… Abner Collinsworth has had great at bats all year long. Not always resulting in hits but that’ll come. Eli Fletcher and Blake Prater have had good weeks at the plate so far.”
“… We are not young, but we have some key spots that are inexperienced, I believe we will get through this early part of our season and be ready to go down the stretch to make a run.”
