Barr Calls for Trump to Receive Nobel Peace Prize

Barr will also introduce legislation directing the State Department to establish the “Trump Peace Prize,” an honor given to peacemakers. The bill would designate President Trump as the first awardee.

Washington, D.C.— Today, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY), a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, wrote to the Norwegian Nobel Committee urging them to bestow the Nobel Peace Prize on President Donald Trump following the announcement of a ceasefire and hostage exchange deal between Israel and Hamas.

“While countless efforts by American and international leaders over decades have failed to achieve lasting progress, this agreement reflects the President’s tireless commitment to restoring stability and safeguarding lives in one of the world’s most volatile regions,” Barr’s letter read in-part. “In addition to this monumental agreement, President Trump also brokered the Abraham Accords in his first term, another transformational Middle East peace agreement between Israel and multiple Arab countries.

“Over the last nine months of his second term, President Trump has successfully negotiated peace agreements in four different continents. His diplomacy has saved lives, stabilized regions, and rekindled the belief that peace through strength and dialogue is still possible. I therefore urge you to bestow upon President Trump the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his tireless pursuit of peace and his transformative impact on the world stage,” Barr’s letter concluded.
