The Bulldogs moved to 4-0 in 58th District with the road victory over the Blackcats.

The Bulldogs will play five games this week beginning on Tuesday at home versus Belfry, Wednesday at home against Martin Co. on the road vs Morgan Co. on Thursday and home games vs Magoffin Co. on Friday evening and Fleming Co. on Saturday afternoon at 2:30.

Bulldog Head Coach Travis Feltner

“ At Pburg was a huge road win to put us in position to get the 1 seed if we can take care of business with Floyd Central. Several guys stepped up offensively and defensively

Braxton ( Davis ) wasn’t super sharp early but settled in well and did a tremendous job giving us back to back complete games.”

“ Russell and JC I felt like we were mentally not as sharp and didn’t play with the kind of Energy we saw the first 2 games this week.

Moving forward we’ve got to have that kind of energy consistently.”

“ Thursday night against Russell we got to witness something that doesn’t happen a lot in HS baseball with Eli’s ( Fletcher ) walk off HR. And it was no doubt soon as it left the bat. Glad he’s on our team and we don’t have to try to get him out. We didn’t exactly play our best game so it’s a really good thing when we can win games against a quality opponent on that kind of night. Colin Howard was huge on the mound going 4+ innings. He just pounds the strike zone and gets a ton of weak contact.”

“ Against Johnson Central on Friday night we jumped out to 8-0 lead in the first and then just never strung hits together again all night. JC hit 3 multi run HRs and we couldn’t overcome that.”
