Sheriff Eddie Bradshaw stated that a major drug dealer was arrested in Prichard during a traffic stop.
Sheriff Bradshaw stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop on a sedan driven by John Maynard, of Huntington.
John consented to a vehicle search and while conducting a search of the vehicle the liner inside the trunk was removed. The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit located three plastic bags containing approximately 5 pounds of Methamphetamine behind the liner.
The investigation revealed that John was supplying Methamphetamine to the Kenova, Fort Gay, and Crum areas of Wayne County along with Cabell, Mingo, Martin (KY), and Lawrence (KY).
Sheriff Bradshaw stated that the street value of the Methamphetamine was approximately $32,000. John is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver. More charges from this investigation are pending. A report was submitted to the Federal prosecutor.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
