Lawrence Co. Head Coach Chandler Thompson

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… I couldn’t be more proud, we have battled some adversity and some ups and some downs throughout the season but tonight they really responded. We had a good team meeting after the Prestonsburg loss and I really felt everyone was genuine and got some stuff off of our chest and then had a couple of good days of preparation and tonight they came out super focused for 32 minutes and got a huge win. Really really proud of them and hopefully this will us some confidence moving forward.”

“ When you get into postseason basketball you have to answer runs by the other team and Johnson Central made a couple and we were able to hit a big shot and keep them at bay. I thought we did a great job on the boards and came with a few big stops to get the momentum back on our side. Hands down I think that was the best we have played all year long. Hopefully that starts a trend for us.”“ We are familiar with playing at Pike Co. Central and at this point I don’t care where we play. We are just thankful that we will get another opportunity. Pikeville is really good, they thumped us pretty good at home but I think we can take some things away from that game and prepare and be ready to roll next week.”
