July 11, 1941 — June 28, 2026

James H. Marcum, 84, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at his home.
James was born July 11, 1941 on Jennie’s Creek in Crum, WV to the late Harlan and Eda (Parsley) Marcum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.
James loved life and the light of his life was his family. He adored his grandchildren. In his free time he liked to watch the Cincinnati Reds.
Survivors include his wife of over 51 years Stella Marcum; children J.D. (Janice) Marcum and Norma (Alan) Robertson; grandchildren Kinslee Marcum, Rhese Robertson, and Ryan Robertson; many nieces, nephews and friends; and his church family at Peter’s Chapel, which he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 3, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Josh Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynch Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Peter’s Chapel Church.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Marcum and his family.
