Louisa man charged with assaulting woman, minor and infant
LOUISA, Ky. — A Lawrence County man has been arrested on multiple counts of assault and other charges, following a domestic violence incident Saturday night.

Louisa Police were called to an apartment complex over a report of an assault. When they arrived, they found a woman outside with a black eye and blood running from her ear to her chest.
The woman told police that Douglas Hayes Brewer, 35, of Louisa, had punched her and bit her ear during an argument. She further said she was holding an infant and Brewer had struck the child during the altercation. The police report says that the infant had red marks on its face.
The woman also told police when she tried to call for help, he took her phone and smashed it against the ground.
A juvenile also came outside and reported that Brewer had pulled her hair, threw her to the ground and choked her with his knees.
Brewer reportedly fled the scene before police arrived, but he was arrested the following evening. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault and one count each of fourth-degree assault, first-degree strangulation and first-degree criminal mischief.
Brewer is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
