The 1st Annual Color Blaze Fun Run for a Cure will take place in downtown Louisa on May 13th. The 5k run/walk will feature a downtown route with little to no incline and include 4 color stations where participants will be splashed with washable powdered color. Registration will be $30 for runners and walkers ages 14 and older and $20 for runners and walkers ages 13 and under. Teams of 10 or more will receive a $5 per person discount. The registration fee will include a race kit which will include a t-shirt, 1 individual package of color powder, 1 pair of sunglasses, 1 inspirational bracelet, 1 color blaze sticker, and 2 temporary tattoos. To guarantee a race kit you must be registered by 4/30/17
All funds raised from this event will benefit the family of Chris Scott. Chris was recently diagnosed with cancer and the funds will help the family with any costs incurred during and after his treatment.
The run will begin with lineup at 8 a.m. on 5/13 with color waves going on every few minutes until race start at 8:30 a.m. At the Color Blaze Fun Run for a Cure, the starting line will be its own pre-race party with music, dancing, warmup stretching and giveaways! Participants may pick up their race packet and kit the day of the fun run beginning at 7 a.m.
