HEATED DOMESTIC ARGUMENT WITH GIRLFRIEND APPARENTLY CAUSED BOYFRIEND TO ‘DRIVE‘ HIMSELF INTO HIS ACTION

A domestic argument between a couple in Magoffin County couple went into overdrive, literally, after a Wolfe County man was arrested following their argument that ended after the man allegedly ran over the woman with his car.
According to the Magoffin County Sheriff Department report, officers were called to Jake Risner Fork Road on Wednesday, October 27, about a woman who had been dragged by a car by her boyfriend.
The police report stated that the male driver, who was identified as James Lee May, 33, of Campton, Ky. The report indicated that James May and the woman, who was identified as his girlfriend, but her name was not released, were arguing inside a vehicle, when she allegedly told James May to stop and let her out.
Witnesses to the incident told police officers the woman allegedly opened the car door and tried to get out of the vehicle and allegedly she could be heard screaming for someone to help her, but James May allegedly sped up. The vehicle then went across a culvert, causing the woman to allegedly being thrown from the car, which then proceeded to roll over her.
James Lee May was placed under arrest by deputy Jonathan Holbrook of the Magoffin County Sheriff Department, and James May was charged with the following: * UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT – 1ST DEGREE, * WANTON ENDANGERMENT – 1ST DEGREE, * ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY.
James Lee May was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where he is still incarcerated. The case remains under investigation by the Magoffin County Sheriff Department.
