It happened early Thursday morning in the 3900 block of Big Stoner Road, which runs off Pretty Run Road.
The bodies of a man and a woman were found at the scene. The coroner says the woman’s family has been notified, and she has been identified as 20-year-old Dixieana Brainard. The male victim’s name has not yet been released.
Both bodies have been sent to Frankfort for autopsies.
KSP says a suspect was taken into custody without incident.
According to the arrest warrant for 19-year-old Christopher Taulbee, he is facing two counts of murder. The warrant says Taulbee shot Brainard in the head and stabbed the male victim in the throat and then hit him in the head with a baseball bat.

The arrest warrant says Taulbee then told someone about what happened, went to pick them up and then came back to the scene. The witness told authorities the male victim was still alive when they got there, and Taulbee hit him numerous times with the bat.
Taulbee was later taken into custody without incident by Kentucky State Police at the Rowan/Carter County line.
WKYT spoke with Brainard’s family, who say this was a domestic situation, and that Taulbee was in a long-term relationship with Brainard, and that they shared a child.
The warrant says the man killed was in a dating relationship with Brainard.
