Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested (2) suspects in a stolen property investigation after they fled into the woods. Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit and Parole located the suspects, Ronnie Fields and Zachary Fields, in the woods in the Rt 75 area.
Road Patrol Deputies responded to the Meadowlinks area to recover stolen property. (A truck, trailer, and (2) zero turn mowers were recently stolen from the Huntington Park Board.) Deputies recovered (2) of the stolen zero turns. A mowing deck that belonged to one of the mowers was located at a third suspects residence, identified as Donald Thompson. The suspects hid the mowers at another location nearby. The stolen truck was recovered from a separate location in the woods.
The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit located an air compressor when searching the residence. The air compressor was reported stolen from WV Rt 152 approximately a week prior.
Deputies seized a SKS, Semi-Auto 308, two other rifles, and military body armor from Donald’s residence. Donald is prohibited from possessing firearms for a felony drug conviction. The Sheriff’s Department recovered more than $14,000. in stolen property.
Sheriff Thompson said Ronnie and Zachary Fields are each charged with felony Transferring-Receiving stolen property and Conspiracy. More charges are expected. Zachary was currently wanted for a Parole Violation.
Deputies will be filing multiple charges on Donald Thompson, the Sheriff said..
