WARFIELD, Ky. — A Martin County man was arrested on drug trafficking charges, after the Martin County Sheriff’s Office received several tips that he was illegally selling prescriptions pills.
Sheriff John Kirk and Chief Deputy Chris Kidd went to the home of Dennis Ray Swisher, 71, of Warfield, on Wednesday to investigate the complaints.

Swisher invited them to come inside and admitted during an interview that he had recently sold some hydrocodone and Neurontin pills. He reportedly further told police that he had bought 500 oxycodone pills around Christmas and sold them all over the next month.
The officers also found a gun in the house, a small amount of marijuana and more than $12,000 in a safe.
Swisher was arrested and charged with two counts of drug trafficking, possession of marijuana and possession of a gun by a convicted felon. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a $20,000 cash bond.
