Fallsburg fire department members arrived at a home at Cub Lane Feb. 8 in response to a fire which had the one story home totally engulfed.

Fallsburg VFD spokesperson Chris Jobe said the dept members, who were on the way to the station after answering another call, took only 11 minutes to get to the scene after the call.

“Our members arrived quickly but it was already too late,” Jobe said. Two people escaped unharmed but Jobe said four animals were lost. Five fire departments responded.

There will still be heavy smoke in the area during the morning commute. We have people watching the structure and they will call us if it rekindles.
