Louisa, Ky. — Two LCHS Bulldog football players garnered more accolades for the 2022 season as Kaden Gillispie and Dylan Ferguson were named to the Louisville Courier Journal All-State team.
Ferguson and Gillispie helped the Dawgs to a 9-3 record and a Class 3A District 8 Championship.
The defense gave up 18 points per game, caused 17 turnovers and scored four touchdowns.
Gillispie’s season was cut short after getting injured against Floyd Central, but he made the second team as a defensive back. He recovered three fumbles, intercepted two passes and scored two defensive touchdowns.
Ferguson made Honorable Mention as a linebacker and was an anchor for the Bulldog defense all season long. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“… It is a great honor that Kaden and Dylan were both recognized by football coaches statewide and selected to the Courier Journal All-State team. This team is voted on by coaches throughout the state. We have been fortunate and have had a couple of really good years, very thankful that coaches have taken notice of the talents and efforts of our players.”
“… Both Kaden and Dylan are very deserving of this honor. They are both great players who left their mark on our football program. They will certainly be missed. I expect both of them to sign with a collegiate football program within the next six weeks. We are thankful that we were fortunate to get to coach them the last few years.”
“… On a side note, we are certainly proud that we had two make the team, but we feel like we had several others who were deserving as well.”
That’s a major honor. Congratulations.
