Last updated
President Donald Trump returned from diplomatic trips to Israel and Egypt to preside over a White House ceremony on October 14, 2025, posthumously awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who would have turned 32 that day.
Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA and a prominent MAGA movement figure, was killed in a targeted shooting outside his Arizona home on September 10, 2025.
His widow, Erika Kirk, accepted the honor as tributes from supporters, lawmakers, and Turning Point USA emphasized his legacy in mobilizing young conservatives and promoting faith-based values.
