Charleston, W. Va. — Tolsia Softball Freshman standout Kalynn Salmons made the Metro News Class A second team All-State this past season.

Salmons was a two way player for Tolsia pitching in 23 games and earning 11 victories in the circle, she also had 145 strikeouts during her freshman campaign.

In the batters box Salmons had a robust .538 batting average, with 30 stolen bases and she had a base percentage of .655 from her leadoff spot for the Rebels.

Tolsia ended up with 13 victories in 2025 the most wins in recent memory and started five or six freshmen each time out.

The program is trending in the right direction and may be getting a new softball complex in the near future.
