Tolsia Softball beats Huntington St. Joe for second consecutive victory

Huntington, W. V. — The Tolsia Softball team improved to 2-1 on the young season after a 12-1 victory over Huntington St. Joe on Monday at the Kennedy Center.

St Joe scored a run in the first inning on a two out hit and then Kalynn Salmons settled down in the circle to pick up the win. Salmons allowed four hits, walked three and struck out eight. At the plate Salmons had three hits including a double. 

Madison Meddings went 4-4 with a double and scored two runs, Jaiden Keene had three hits including a triple, a double and scored twice, Ava Lyons had a hit and scored two runs, Bailee Belt had a hit and scored twice, Carly Johnson had one hit, Kilee Preece and Jaida Addow scored a run each. 

Tolsia 18 Martin Co. 7 

Kalynn Salmons was the winning pitcher for the Rebels going the distance, allowing seven hits, striking out eight and gave up three earned runs. Offensively Salmons had four hits including a double and scored three runs. 

Carly Johnson had three hits and scored four runs, Kilee Preece had three hits including a triple and scored three runs, Ava Lyons had four runs and scored twice, Madison Meddings singled, doubled and scored twice, Bailee Belt had two hits and scored three runs, Chloe Horn went 3-3 with a triple and two runs scored. 

The Rebels will return to action on Wednesday at Raceland ( KY ) and then host Man on Thursday.
