SHERIFF THOMPSON ASKING FOR PUBLIC’S HELP IN CATCHING DRUG SUSPECT
County vehicle damaged in pursuit of pair
A suspected drug dealer fled from the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit and Kenova Police Dept while they were working a joint drug investigation in the Westmoreland area. While fleeing the area the suspects’ vehicle struck a county vehicle and continued to flee.
After pursuing the vehicle down Waverly Rd the suspects went down Sunset Dr and then Christopher Stinson bailed out of the vehicle and ran on foot into a wooded area. Officers apprehended Christopher a few minutes later near West River Rd.
During the investigation Christopher Stinson, of Huntington, and a female conspired to distribute Crack Cocaine in the area. He is charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Consiracy to commit a Felony, Felony Fleeing-Vehicle, Fleeing on Foot, and Obstructing.
Sheriff Thompson stated that Christopher Stinson is currently wanted for a Parole Violation. (He was on Parole for a violent Home Invasion in Huntington in 2007).
Sheriff Thompson also stated that he is seeking the help of the public to identify the female suspect. “We have obtained some Surveillance footage of the suspect and we need help to identify her. She was driving a newer looking blue hatchback car.”

The WCSD Drug Enforcement Unit also arrested Michelle Cooper and Sarah Hewitt, both of Huntington, in a separate drug investigation in the Kenova area.
The pair conspired to distribute Crystal Methamphetamine in the area. Officer’s conducted a traffic stop on the suspects vehicle and seized a distribution quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, and thousands of dollars.
Kenova Police Dept and road patrol deputies assisted in the arrest.
Ms. Hewitt is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver, Conspiracy, and Pseudoephedrine Altered. Ms. Cooper is charged with Aiding and Abetting and Conspiracy.
