Eastern, Ky Lawrence Co. ( 28-6 ) won the 58th District softball title for the seventh straight year with a 12-2 victory over Floyd Central ( 14-17 ) Wednesday night.

Bree Jones had four hits, one RBI and scored twice, Dani Crum had two hits including a double, drove in three runs and scored twice, Shelby Blevins had two hits including a double and drove in three runs, Kensley Feltner had two hits including a double, drove in one and scored twice, Abby Nelson had two hits including a double, drove in a run and scored once, Abby Maynard had two hits and drove in a run, Gracie Preece doubled, drove in one and scored a run, Allie Triplett scored twice, Camber Maxie-Stepp and Ella Smith scored a run each.
Taylor Blevins went the distance to get the win in the circle, she struck out 12, allowed five hits, gave up two earned runs and walked none.

The Bulldogs will open up the 15th Region tournament which will be held at Belfry on Monday at 5:00 versus Shelby Valley ( 23-15 ).

“ That was 7 District championships in a row for Lawrence Co. with a perfect record. Both are great accomplishments but not to lose a district game over that time frame is pretty awesome! Kids played well and took care of business. Now it’s on to the one that matters.”
