Softball Dawgs End The Week With Mercy Rule Win At Shelby Valley

Robinson Creek, Ky. — Jada Patton homered and Lawrence Co. ( 16-10 ) beat Shelby Valley 18-0 in three innings on Friday evening.

Jada Patton connected for her team leading 7th home run of the year at Shelby Valley. 

Patton went 3-3 with a homer, double, five runs batted in and four runs scored, Emalynn Kitts had two hits including a double, scored three runs and drove in two runs, Aleaha Gillispie had two hits including a double, drove in three runs and scored twice, Taylor Blevins doubled and had one RBI, Millie Sammons singled and drove in one, Brinley Baisden had two hits, two RBI’s and two runs scored, Addalyn Woods singled, had two runs batted in and scored two runs, Ella Smith and Baleigh Blackburn scored two runs each, Gracie Woods scored a run. 

Taylor Blevins pitched three innings, struck out four and allowed two hits to pick up the win in the circle. 

Rowan Co. 2 Lawrence Co. 1 

The Dawgs went on the road to Morehead and lost a very good game against the Vikings. 

Lawrence Co. only collected two hits as Brinley Baisden picked up a double and scored a run, Taylor Blevins singled had one run batted in. 

Blevins was the hard luck loser after pitching a great game. She went six innings, allowed five hits, two earned runs, walked two and struck out six. 

Johnson Central 9 Lawrence Co. 6

The Golden Eagles hit five home runs and held on for the victory in Louisa. 

For the Lady Dawgs Lexi Crum had two hits including a double, one run scored and drove in one run. Jada Patton singled and scored two runs, Emalynn Kitts had two hits including a double and scored two runs, Aleaha Gillispie had two hits, Ella Smith singled, Millie Sammons drove in one run, Addalyn Woods scored a run. 

Brinley Baisden started and went three innings before Braylee Triplett relieved and pitched the final four innings of the game. 

Lawrence Co. 10 Floyd Central 8 

The Bulldogs wrapped up a 6-0 District record with the road victory over the Jaguars. 

Addalyn Woods hit her second homer of the year at Floyd Central. 

Emalynn Kitts had three hits including a triple and a double, three runs batted in and two runs scored, Addalyn Woods hit a home run, doubled, drove in one and scored three times, Lexi Crum singled and drove in two runs, Millie Sammons singled and drove in a run, Taylor Blevins singed and drove in three runs, Jada Patton singled and scored two runs, Brinley Baisden had two hits and scored a run, Gracie Woods singled and scored a run, Aleaha Gillispie singled, Anna Compton scored a run. 

Taylor Blevins tossed a complete game one hitter, no earned runs, four strikeouts and walked three. 

Perry Co. Central 8 Lawrence Co. 5 

The Commodores scored six runs in the final two innings to beat the Bulldogs in Louisa. 

Jada Patton homered and doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice, Addalyn Woods had two hits including a double, drove in one and scored a run, Ella Smith singed and scored a run, Aleaha Gillispie singed, Emalynn Kitts scored a run. 

Taylor Blevins started, went the first three innings allowing three hits and struck out three before Brinley Baisden went the final four innings. 

The Bulldogs have a busy week beginning at home on Tuesday versus Boyd Co. before traveling to Symmes Valley ( OH ) on Tuesday.

“… We have played a very good schedule coming down the stretch and we feel like it will help get us get ready for post season play.” 

“… Taylor ( Blevins ) pitched 2 gems this week versus Rowan and Shelby Valley and is rounding back into good form.” 

“… Our bats came around versus Shelby Valley as well. Heading into the last week of the regular season we have four tough games with Boyd and Ashland at home and on the road at Symmes Valley and Magoffin. 

“…All of these will help us get ready for district play on May 18th.”
