Lawrence Co. Head Coach Heath Webb
“… It never gets old winning District, the previous eight were a little bit easier than this one. Tonight was different, give Belfry a ton of credit they came to play and outplayed us in the first half. We were fortunate to be ahead 2-1 at Halftime. The play of the game was Saibra Moore coming out of nowhere as Belfry was driving for a clear goal to knock it away and preserve our lead. Huge momentum play for our team.”
“… We were sloppy for the most part tonight. Belfry is a physical team with older kids. I told the girls coming into this season that Belfry will be a different team from years past. We have beaten them time after time 10-0 and they got tired of that. Only beat them 4-3 at our place so they were a confident team coming into this game, they thought they were going to win and they had the mojo.”
“… So proud of our girls for stepping up in a big game. Sarah Lycans played a great game, Ellie Webb and our midfielders Jasmine Justice and Brylee Blair were great. I could go on and on about are defense it was exceptional tonight.”
“…Whoever we play it will be a challenge, Prestonsburg and Johnson Central are both good. We played Prestonsburg and lost 6-2 but the score was much closer. They have played a great schedule and lost a couple games. We haven’t played Johnson Central this year but they are Johnson Central. It will be interesting and should be a great game. We will have home field advantage, so that is a plus.”
“… So proud of our program altogether at every level. We lost nine seniors off of last year’s team and 7 starters might have been our best team ever. These youngsters and all stepped into key roles and been terrific.”
