Sharp works to help Boyd County obtain funding

Frankfort, Kentucky (June 20, 2024) – State Representative Scott Sharp (R-Ashland) discusses technology challenges facing disaster and emergency response officials in Boyd County during the June meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Protection.

Sharp was joined by Boyd County Sheriff James Riehs, who described the county’s communications problems, specifically weakened radio signals that prevent them from communicating in dangerous, real-time situations.

Sharp and the Riehs outlined a proposal to build a new tower and equip an existing tower to improve radio signal.
