KENTUCKY HOUSE MAJORITY CAUCUS

Frankfort, Kentucky (July 28, 2026) – Representative Scott Sharp attends the Interim Joint Committee on Health Services’ July meeting. Throughout July, legislators returned to Frankfort for interim committee meetings, continuing to study important issues facing the Commonwealth ahead of the 2027 Regular Session. These meetings allow lawmakers to hear from state agencies, local leaders, industry experts, and citizens while reviewing current laws, monitoring state programs, and considering future policy solutions.
Committees tackled a wide range of topics in July. Members discussed ways to strengthen Kentucky’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and support small businesses that create jobs and grow local economies, reviewed administrative regulations, examined agency reports, and discussed proposals to expand treatment options for patients with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. Lawmakers also focused on tourism, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and technology.
Interim committee meetings play an important role in the legislative process by giving lawmakers the opportunity to gather information, ask questions, and prepare for the work ahead. The discussions held now will help inform legislation and policy decisions when the General Assembly reconvenes in January.
Kentuckians can monitor legislative work in several accessible ways, all available on the legislature’s website, legislature.ky.gov. Meeting agendas, presentation materials, and minutes from previous meetings are available on the legislature’s website under the committee section. A weekly calendar is posted on the website, as well as a full schedule of committee meetings for the entire six-month interim. All meetings are open to the public and generally held in the Capitol Annex, and the calendars are updated to reflect schedule changes. Those unable to travel to Frankfort may watch live or recorded meetings on the Legislative Research Commission’s YouTube channel, KYLRCCommitteeMeetings, or through Kentucky Educational Television’s livestream service. Rep. Sharp can be reached anytime through the toll-free message line in Frankfort at 1-800-372-7181 or emailed at Scott.Sharp@kylegislature.gov.
