A Major Expansion of Integrated Behavioral Health and Strengthened Community Access

ASHLAND, Ky; CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky; GEORGETOWN, Ky; GRAYSON, Ky; RUSH, Ky — (January 1, 2026) — Ramey-Estep/Re-group proudly announces its designation as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), celebrating a historic milestone as a Behavioral Health Service Organization (BHSO) in Kentucky to earn this prestigious status. The designation places Ramey-Estep among a select group of providers recognized for meeting the highest national standards for access, quality, accountability, and integrated care across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This groundbreaking achievement underscores Ramey-Estep/Re-group’s commitment to delivering comprehensive, integrated care that addresses the full spectrum of behavioral health needs for individuals and families.

As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), Ramey-Estep/Re-group will significantly expand access to timely, high-quality behavioral health services across the communities it serves, with a focused commitment to rural and underserved populations. The CCBHC designation enables same-day access to care, enhanced crisis response, and robust care coordination, while strengthening whole-person, integrated care that aligns mental health, substance use treatment, primary care, and social drivers of health. This model improves the availability of crisis assessment, stabilization, and follow-up services. As a CCBHC, Ramey-Estep/Re-group is held to rigorous federal and state quality, reporting, and outcome standards, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Additionally, the designation supports strategic investment in recruiting, training, and retaining a highly qualified workforce, positioning the organization to meet growing community needs now and into the future.

Ginny Anderson, Chief Executive Officer, reflected, “We had to evolve (intentionally and decisively) while staying grounded in the mission and values that have guided Ramey-Estep since 1944. Striking that balance has never been easy, but it has always defined who we are. Our history signifies intentional adaptation. From our beginnings as an orphanage, to adolescent residential treatment, to foster care and prevention, to outpatient services and recovery programming, Ramey-Estep has consistently changed to meet the needs of Kentucky’s children and families. This is the result of disciplined leadership, a willingness to make hard decisions, and a shared commitment to doing what is right, not what is easy. I am deeply grateful for our leadership and for the steady partnership and governance of our Board.”

Ramey-Estep’s selection as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic follows an extensive readiness and compliance review by the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services and reflects years of deliberate planning, infrastructure investment, and clinical integration. This designation positions Ramey-Estep/Re-group at the forefront of healthcare innovation in Kentucky, establishing a new standard for integrated care that closes longstanding gaps between mental health, substance use treatment, and primary care services. The CCBHC expansion also strengthens local workforce development, creating approximately 150 new, meaningful career opportunities that support integrated health delivery while advancing healthier, more resilient communities across the Commonwealth. Ramey-Estep serves individuals and families across Northeastern and Northern Bluegrass Kentucky with a commitment to compassion, excellence, and community partnership.
