APARTMENT BUILDING IN MARTIN COUNTY, KY IS DESTROYED IN MONDAY MORNING FIRE.
An apartment building fire in Martin County, Kentucky early Monday morning has left several families homeless.
According to the Martin County Sheriff Department, the fire happened at the old Rainbow Inn on old Route 3.
Martin County Sheriff John H.Kirk reported that the motel was converted into multiple apartments around 20 years ago.
Sheriff Kirk said everyone in the apartments made it out safely, but unfortunately the entire apartment building was a total loss.
Sheriff Kirk also said that those families who lived in the apartments are now homeless.
The Inez Volunteer Fire Department had the fire contained by just before noon.
The Warfield Volunteer Fire and Rescue, along with the Lowmansville Volunteer Fire Department from Lawrence County, were also at the scene assisting the Inez Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire officials are investigating what was the cause of the fire.
