Inez, Ky. — Sheldon Clark senior Ethan Osborne tossed a six inning perfect game in a 10-0 victory over Betsy Layne on Tuesday night at Cardinal Park.
Osborne struck out 15 of the 18 batters he faced and threw only 67 pitches including 54 for strikes during the outing.
The Cardinals picked up their first win of the season as Betsy Layne dropped to 1-3.
Sheldon Clark had seven hits in the victory as Osborne helped his own cause by picking up two hits including a double and also drove in three runs.
Brent Burke laced a triple and had three RBIs, Braxton McGinnis had a hit and two RBIs, Parker Jarrell, Dylan Stafford, and Jon Jon Fitch all had one hit apiece.
Sheldon Clark will return to action on Friday as the Cards travel to Prestonsburg. They will return home to play a doubleheader on Saturday vs Buckhorn and Lewis Co.

“… I didn’t feel very good going into the game. The bullpen mound was still muddy from the rain, and it didn’t feel like I had my best stuff. I was just taking it one batter at a time… was just trying to hit my spots and not waste any pitches. A couple of my teammates mentioned the no hitter going into the 5th inning but I just kept trying to hit my spots and it worked out in my favor.”
